St Florian is the popular saint that protects firefighters from harm. St. Florian held a high administrative post in the Roman Army during the 4th century. The medal has the likeness of St Florian holding a flag while pouring water on a house fire embossed in the center with the words “SAINT FLORIAN PROTECT US” encompassing his image. There are raised sections and has a semi-polished finish. The top of the medal has the letters “FD” while the left and right flanks are adorned with a ladder and water hydrant.
