The Scapular medal. In 1251, the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Simon Stock, Superior of the Carmelites, and told him: "Whomsoever dies clothed in this (scapular) shall not suffer eternal fire." On the back of the medal is a picture of the Sacred heart. Normally required if a medal is to be considered a Scapular medal.
