Saint Anne is the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary and grandmother of Jesus. She is the patron saint of mothers, grandmothers, women in labor, housewives, sailors, horseback riders, and cabinet makers. St. Anne is also the patron of Canada, St. Anne de Beau Pre is the shrine to St. Anne, visited by millions each year in Quebec.
